International Women's Day is a global observance celebrated annually on March 8th to recognise the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to call for gender equality. It is a day to celebrate women's contributions to society, and to raise awareness of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and women's rights. The day has its roots in the early 1900s when women in various countries began to advocate for better working conditions and suffrage rights. The first official International Women's Day was celebrated on March 19th, 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. Since then, International Women's Day has grown into a global movement, with events and celebrations taking place all over the world to promote women's rights and empowerment.

We consulted with our female colleagues at IntelliQA to gather their perspectives on International Women's Day and their experiences working as women at IntelliQA.

Roshni Parsooth, Director of Operations

“I feel incredibly fortunate to work at IntelliQA, a company that provides exceptional flexibility, unwavering support, and invaluable guidance to aid in the development of my role and career progression.

As a mother of two young children, balancing work and home life can be challenging for women. However, IntelliQA's outstanding flexibility and understanding have allowed me to thrive in both of these roles.

Taking time off to grow our family was made easier by IntelliQA's unwavering support and emphasis on achieving the right work-life balance. This has instilled in me the confidence to grow in my role and advance my career.

IntelliQA is an innovative, forward-thinking technology company at the forefront of payment test automation. The company's fast-moving nature has allowed me to continuously learn and develop my skills while being part of a supportive, fun team.”

Jayne Kaye, Chief Operating Officer

“On International Women's Day, I reflect on the inspiring words of Michelle Obama, a successful lawyer from Chicago who became the First Lady of the United States. Her quote, "Whether you come from a council estate or a country estate, your success will be determined by your confidence and fortitude," resonates with me deeply and is one of the many quotes from her that I will remember as I progress through life.

As a mother and a professional at IntelliQA, every woman deserves respect and recognition for their hard work. My primary role involves engaging with our enterprise customers, negotiating legal contracts, and completing onboarding processes. These tasks are crucial in building momentum with our customers and demonstrate that we are a flexible business that can maturely evaluate risk and be attentive to our customers' needs.

On this particular day, I am proud to be a part of a company that values and supports women's success and growth in their careers. We celebrate the achievements of women around the world and continue to strive towards gender equality.”

Charlotte Woodman, Marketing Manager

“As a marketing manager at IntelliQA on International Women's Day, I am proud to be part of an organization that values and supports gender equality in the workplace. Whilst working at IntelliQA, they offer the flexibility that suits you, an essential element in the working environment.

We strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and succeed. I am grateful that our voices are heard in the workplace and recognized for our work ethic. I am inspired by our organization's strong, intelligent and passionate women who continue to work hard to deliver results.

As a female leader in marketing, I am committed to empowering women to pursue their dreams and achieve their full potential through work and personal.”

Lucy Jones, Marketing Content Creator

“Being a woman graphic designer and Videographer can be challenging in a male-dominated industry. Still, I feel fortunate to work for a company like IntelliQA that values diversity and inclusivity.

At IntelliQA, I'm encouraged to bring my unique perspective and ideas to the table, and I'm given opportunities to learn and grow in my role. I'm supported by a team of colleagues who are talented and passionate about their work and respect and appreciate my contributions.

It's refreshing to work in an environment where gender is not a barrier to success and where my skills and ideas are what truly matter. Thanks to the support and encouragement I receive at IntelliQA, I am confident that I can continue to develop my skills and make valuable contributions to the team.”

To conclude, International Women's Day is a vital reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and women's rights. It is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women and girls while also acknowledging the challenges that still exist. By working together to empower women and girls and end violence against them, we can create a more just and equitable world for all. At IntelliQA, we work collaboratively to ensure women's voices are heard, and we support our women in the workplace.
